The title seems pretty weird though but it's cool. It is actually a title of a song by Foster the People and the song is superb dude. I'm gonna be talking about songs that's why this post is about music and my rants about being mainstream. duh.
I've realized that there are so so many great music out there and not everyone is noticing it. The problem with most of the people is that we only notice the HITS, the CHART-TOPPERS, and the MOST POPULAR SONGS BY THE MOST POPULAR ARTISTS.
I'm not saying that the hits are lame and that they are somewhat not great. There is a reason why they became hits, right? Because they're great.
My point is, there is so much great music. That because of the abundance of the Hits, people are already CONTENTED with what's POPULAR.
I have experienced this situation firsthand. Even if a song was released months before it was made a single, the song only became popular once it became a single. Do you get me? No? ok.
I have come to notice that a song from a particular album ONLY becomes a hit once it is made a single and has a freaking Music video. like duhh?
The problem is, we have to dig deeper. We have to explore different genres and styles and kinds of artists. We have to appreciate this. Appreciate everything that music offers.
OK.
During the time span of 2 months (Summer 2014), I have been digging deeper than the surface of my comfort zone. Even though I've explored different genres before, this summer is really when I discovered so many great artists. Thanks to the internet and YouTube.
The thing is, they deserve MORE views, MORE sales, MORE tours, MORE concerts, MORE fans, MORE everything.
But the problem is, they're not chart-toppers. Their songs are not hits that always appear on MTv or be played on the radio.
AND that's why I came to DISLIKE people who always depend on MAINSTREAM music.
I DID NOT MEAN TO INSULT OR WRITE THIS ENTRY TO SOMEWHAT SEND A MESSAGE TO A PERSON I KNOW. BUT IF I WAS, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ME AND I DON'T HAVE A PERSON TO HATE ON. I WAS JUST TRYING TO EXPLAIN MY POINT AND TRYING TO GET MY POINT ACROSS. AND ALSO I'M NOT SAYING THAT I KNOW EVERYTHING. AS I WAS SAYING, I WAS JUST TRYING TO GET MY POINT ACROSS.
